BINTOU is a 29-year-old Chadian mother. A nurse by profession, she is married to KOUMA, 25, also a Chadian. Following the birth of their daughter ZARA, the two decide to settle in the family home of KOUMA in Chad, until he and his wife save enough money to buy a house. But living together turns out to be more difficult than expected for BINTOU who has trouble finding his place in this family and who suffers constant criticism from his stepmother.
