ALLEY OOP AFRICA
Sport at the service of development!
Alley-oop Africa is an awareness campaign for the general public, especially young people, to encourage behavioral change in line with the Sustainable Development Goals in the field of health and gender equality. By mobilizing the attractiveness of sport, the notoriety of players and the success of popular media and digital formats, the project will create educational messages and convey on a large scale values such as civic engagement, solidarity, respect for the other. The objective to contribute to making sport a lever for development in Africa in terms of access to health (SDG no. 3) and gender equality (SDG no. 5). The project actions will help to:
- Inform and sensitize a large audience of young Africans by using sport as a vehicle for promoting health and gender;
- Encourage the practice of sport by girls by fighting against stereotypes and discrimination that hinder their free participation in sport;
- Support the attractiveness and structuring of "sport and development" associations in Africa as incubators for a new generation of leaders who develop local solutions for their communities.
